Patreon is a platform for creative folks to share their work directly to their patrons. Patrons pledge a monthly (or per item) amount to an artist, like a membership, to get all of their Patreon content. Some artists set their account up in tiers (kind of like a kickstarter campaign) where if a person pledges more they get more content/rewards. Other folks, like myself, offer everything up to everyone at any price level.

Since The Warming House closed I've been unemployed. I teach a handful of lessons a week but that's not enough to sustain me and my family. Patreon is an opportunity for me, and many artists, to make a living by doing what we're good at - soul work.

We often take music, art, and poetry for granted. So many folks offer it up for free (which is lovely) and expect nothing in return. We consume creativity with no gratitude to the makers. Funding artists and musicians with a small and sustainable offering is one way we can show gratitude.

I know it will be a slow roll for me to work up to having enough patrons to be able to pay my rent, but every little bit helps to keep food on the table and strings on the guitar.
